Ringlock Standards
Ringlock scaffolding is a prefabricated modular steel scaffolding system widely used in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure construction, featuring high load capacity, safety and stability, flexibility, and suitability for a wide range of scaffolding applications.
Ringlock standards are the vertical parts of the modular ringlock scaffolding system. They are composed of rings (rosettes) at every 500m intervals, which function as node points, connecting to other ring lock scaffold components of horizontals, braces, and brackets, thus forming scaffolding frames, platform stages, access scaffolding, and shoring systems for construction and concrete.
Because the system has this important “ring” element, the scaffolding system is named “ringlock” or “ring lock” or “rosette” scaffolding.

O.D.48mm & O.D. 60mm Ringlock Standards
O.D. 48.3mm ringlock standards are the most commonly used ring system scaffolding. They are made of O.D. 48.3mm scaffold tube, which is lightweight, heavy-duty for regular load requirements, flexible, safe and stable.
While O.D. 60 mm ringlock standards are the vertical parts of the high-load shore system ringlock system. They are made of O.D. 60mm scaffold tubes, which can withstand more load than 48mm ringlock standards, which are required for high-load shoring construction, such as highway road construction, bridging construction, and large industrial plant construction.

Ringlock Scaffolding Standards Spigots
Ringlock scaffolding standard normal length/size is 0.5m to 4.0m. To achieve the designed height, ringlock standards are stacked using ringlock spigots (joint pins or connectors).
Ringlock spigots can be fixed to the standards using either a pressed-in or a bolted method.
- Pressed-in ringlock scaffolding spigots are a type of fixing joint pins of the ringlock standards. They are nonremovable. Prefabricated fixing spigots require no assembly in construction, saving time
- Bolted ringlock spigots are assembled on the ringlock uprights by bolts and nuts. They are removable by releasing the nut and removing the bolt. Bolted ringlock spigots are convenient for receiving top heads (adjustable or fixed U head, fork head, J head, etc.), which are widely used in slab and beam concrete shoring.
Press-In Spigot Ring Lock Scaffold Standards
Press-in ring lock standards have a coupling pin inserted into the top of one standard and pressed into place, eliminating the need for bolts or welding. Called pressed ringlock standard.
Features of Press-In Ringlock Standards:
- Seamless Alignment: Ensures that stacked Ringlock standards stay perfectly vertical.
- Quick and Easy Installation – Workers do not need an assembly spigot for scaffolding erection.
- Strong and Secure Connection – Prevents misalignment or instability.
Bolted Spigot Ring System Standards
When spigots are fixed to the ring lock system using bolts and nuts, it is called a bolted ringlock standard.
Features of Bolted Ringlock Scaffolding Standards
- Spigots can be removed. They are needed when standards need to work with the scaffold top head(U head, forkhead, etc.) in shoring and shuttering.
- Take more load. The bolts are 8.8 class, which takes more load than a pressed-in spigot.
- Strong Joints: More stable for tall structures and heavy loads (e.g., shoring)
Ringlock Scaffolding Standards without Spigot
Ringlock standards without spigots are typical scaffold uprights for formwork scaffold, shoring scaffolding, or falsework. Called open-end ringlock standards. They have no coupling pins but connect with scaffold u head, fork head to support formwork beams(H20 beams, Aluma beams -Aluminium beams), hollow sections in shoring and concrete forming.
Open-end ringlock standards can be assembled with spigots using bolts and nuts through the holes in typical building and construction scaffolding for stacking.
Features of Open-End Ringlock Scaffolding Standards
- Convenient connection with top heads for concrete formwork beam support
- Flexible to use in typical construction by assembling the spigot with standards by bolts and nuts
- Lighter weight
- Save cost: with no cost of the spigot.
How to Assembly Ringlock Scaffold Standards
- Inspect the Ground – Ensure a stable, level surface free from debris.
- Set Up Base Jacks – Adjust screw jacks or scaffold base plates to provide a level foundation.
- Insert Ringlock Base Collar(Starter) On Base Jack
- Align with the Grid Layout– Follow the scaffolding design plan for proper spacing.
- Use a spirit level to measure the levelings
- Slight adjustment of the base jack to make levelling
- Fix the rosettes of the base collar(lowest rings) by ringlock ledgers
- Position the First Standards– Insert Ringlock standards inside the base collar
- Fix more ringlock ledgers and braces on standards
- Stacking more standards by the spigot and fixing standards with more ledgers and braces.
- Fix Scaffold Planks or Decks – Lay steel or aluminium planks at designated levels.
- Secure Toe Boards & Guardrails – Ensure workers’ fall protection.
- Inspect All Connections – Ensure ledgers, braces, and joints are correctly locked.
Ringlock Standards Surface Treatment
Ringlock standards are finished in hot-dip galvanisation (HDG). Hot dip galvanising is the best surface treatment for scaffolding. It has the longest lifespan without rusting and withstands both hot and cold weather. The HDG ringlock lifespan will be 10-25 years, depending on the construction environment.
