Scaffold Prop Sleeves and Nut Ultimate Guide
Scaffold prop sleeves are scaffolding accessories. It is used as a part of adjustable scaffolding props and shoring jacks.
The scaffold prop sleeves are connected with scaffold prop outer tubes in manufacturing. It can be welded on the scaffolding prop outer tubes. While you can also thread the scaffolding props’ outer tubes directly. The outer tube threaded parts also have the function of prop sleeves in height adjusting.
Post Shore and Shoring Prop Sleeve and Nuts
According to the scaffolding props types, there are post-shore props and shoring jacks.
Post Shore Scaffold Prop Nuts and Sleeves
Post shore props are with long outer threaded prop sleeves and inner threaded prop nuts. Post shore scaffold prop nuts can be cast steel, drop-forged, or cast-iron types.
Among them, cast iron scaffolding prop nuts are the most popular type. It is with less cost, big production capacity, and fast delivery. The cast iron prop nut inner reverse threads are able to come out from the cast iron lines directly. No need for any further machinery threads. Cast iron prop nut is in GJS450 or GJS400 grades. Customized grades are available too.
Cast steel and drop forged scaffolding prop nuts are more durable, stable, and with less metal hardnesses. The reverse threads need further machinery working after casting and forging. That is why the cost is higher. While production output is less and delivery is longer than the cast iron type scaffold prop nuts.
Scaffolding prop nuts are always with handles. The handles are used for workers’ turning in the construction site. You can find OD12mm, OD14mm, OD16mm, and OD18mm handles for the scaffold prop nuts.
Prop sleeves with the nuts, as a set of scaffolding accessories, make the scaffolding props adjustable.
Scaffolding Shoring Prop Sleeve and Nuts
Shoring jacks are with short prop sleeves of 40mm. It is welded from the outside of the shoring prop outer tube. Thus the diameter of the shoring prop sleeves is bigger than the shoring prop outer tubes.
Shoring prop nuts are with two handles. One is on the right side of the prop nuts, another one is on the left side of the prop nuts. The handle diameter is about 12mm. With the prop nut handles, you can easily make the shoring prop nuts turn and run in scaffolding jack height adjusting.

Prop Sleeve Length
Scaffold prop sleeve lengths are always customized. For example, OD60mm scaffold prop sleeves length could be 195mm to 400mm. You can tell us your prop sleeve length, Wellmade is able to manufacture it according to your design.
Post shore prop sleeves are with slots on the sleeve body. The prop sleeve slots are used for the prop lock pins. Prop sleeve slot lengths are designed according to the adjusting range of scaffold props. While the prop sleeve slot width needs to match the prop lock pins. For instant, the OD16mm lock pin needs the prop sleeve slot width of 17-18mm.
Prop Sleeve Finishing

Scaffold Prop Sleeve Threads Type
The most common prop sleeve threaded size is 4 TPI. In one inch there are four teeth. It is according to the British ad European standards.
While you can also find coarse(quick) threaded prop sleeves in 8mm teeth. It is according to German formwork company’s design. The 8mm threaded prop sleeves are with wider teeth. Thus it is used a lot in the hot-dip galvanized scaffolding prop manufacturing.
