Construction prop G pins are height-adjusting pins of the construction props in G shape. They are made of round steel rods. It is also called prop lock pins, acrow prop pin, acro prop pins, acrow pin or shoring pin.

- What is the slot width of your prop sleeve?
- What is the hole diameter of the prop inner tube?
The G pin diameter must be smaller than the prop sleeve slot width and inner tube hole diameter.
G Pin Diameter VS Prop Load Capacity
Regularly, a larger-diameter G pin helps props take more load in concrete shoring and scaffold support (assuming the same steel grade). That means 10mm G pins are used for light-duty props in construction, while 16-18mm G pins are components of heavy-duty props.
Prop G Pin Steel Grades
Prop G Pins have three popular steel grades:
- S235: Steel Yield Strength： 235 N/mm² (Mpa)
- S355: Steel Yield Strength： 355 N/mm² (Mpa)
- S45C: Steel Yield Strength: 450-560 N/mm² (Mpa)
Among them, the S45C (also called C1045) steel grade is the highest, capable of reaching an 8.8-class load. G pins made of S45C steel (8.8 class) can increase the adjustable prop load capacity.
Cost of the three steel grade G pins
- S235 G pins are the cheapest
- S355 is higher than the S235 grade and cheaper than the S45C steel grade G pins
- S45C steel grade G Pins are the most expensive
